Everyone ran really well and continue to improve. The competition was really tough with most of the runners from larger Class 2A or 3A schools, like Canyon, Boys Ranch, Perryton, etc. In the boys' division, Luis Garcia ran very well, Placing 43 out of 84 runners, with an excellent time of 19:47 on a very tough course through grass, sand, and up and down hills. Kale Brandon was 48 and Jonathan Giffin was 63. No Class A boys from our district placed ahead of these 3 runners. The girls did a great job. Jaci Copelin placed 15, Carmen Garcia 34, Ruth Howard 76, and Haley Bennett 105 out of 162 runners. More importantly, the girls shocked last year's district champion, Happy, by beating them 353 to 366 and placing 11 to Happy's 13. Both the boys and girls have a good shot.
