Hedley High school sent 20 students into competition at the West Texas High Invitational Academic Meet and won two team championships, as well as several other individual awards.  Stephen and Ben won their respective contest in Number Sense and Current Issues and Events.  Ben led his team to a first place tie with Clarendon.  Katie and Roper rounded out the team.  Stephen also won the Chemistry contest and overall Science contest with Will placing second overall score and second in Chemistry.  Those two along with Brayden and Kristen won the Science team championship.  Kristen also won the Biology portion of the contest.  Betty placed sixth, and Ruth Anne placed seventh in Calculator Applications, leading the team to a second place finish.  Danielle and Carmen completed that team.  Fourteen schools competed in the meet with seven of those schools being class 2A or larger.
